Grey horses + stable stains, help!

How do you get stable stains off your grey's? (or any colour horse for that matter!)
Anyone use any 'human' products to get them off as they tend to be cheaper?
 
I've found a great product! It works wonders and is available at most farms. It's called Dihydrogen monoxide, just apply with a sponge with a bit of elbow grease and your horse will be clean in no time!

Yes Amy! It can be very dangerous if not used correctly, but i'm sure anyone capable of keeping a horse to a high standard will be fine using it safely.
 
... it's more common name is water or H2O, 2 hydrogen molecules and a molecule of Oxygen :D so, can get it from a tap too :p

This :). Used to use baby wipes until I got caught short at the yard without toilet paper and used said wipes on myself - I was in agony . . so don't use those on my boy any more either. Stubborn stable stains get fairy liquid . . . and then every so often he gets a wash with Gallop.

Water is the best though.

Water, elbow grease and fairly liquid for the tough spots!

I find the best way is to wash stains off immediatly you find them, so they don't have a chance to truely discolour the hair.

No idea if it works on stable stains, but the idea that it wards off midges and mozzies is b****ks! Got bitten to death in Greece using that stuff, having been told the Marines use it as their weapon against biters. Was rubbish!
 
I use either
'Stain Master' by Carr & Day
'Elite water free shampoo' by Horsewise
'Super stain remover' by Lynn Russell

All really good and work on my grey - everyone always comments on how slean she looks :)
 
I use baby wipes... They are meant to be gentle and kind enough for babies bottoms!! My horse doesnt mind and has lovely soft coat! :-)
