And now at 9, it has been a very slow and gradual lighteningm he is def more grey/steal grey versus the bay/brown tones he had when I first got him and the mane is slowly starting to lighten. I'm hoping he stays dark for a good few more years yet as I love it.

Oh wow!! He is gorgeous, you're lucky he has stayed dark for so long! Xx

My current 2 horses - one was born skewbald, she faded out and is white. The other was born black (lusitano) and was a lovely shade of steel grey when I bought him as a 4yo, then quickly faded so he's very light grey nowadays.

My grey looked like a glossy stag when he was born....lovely livery-bay colour, fading to a chestnut rough coat at 18months, then very dark steel grey, with some dapples at 2-3...now at 8 he has a silvery grey dapply coat, darker legs....its going to be amazing to see him change to pure white as the yrs progress!
The pics shared are lovely ?

Mont gets more and more fleabitten every summer. He's never been particularly white, went from dappled to fleabitten pretty much straight away at the age of about 15 and the fleabites have just got more and more prominent over the years. He's almost a negative of his 3yr old self now.

Granny horse had a very subtle spattering of fleabites eventually. I quite like them.

I think they'd look good on a big cob but they seem to be a thoroughbred or arab thing mostly so I'm pretty sure Beast will just go white white white (green/yellow/dusty).
