Hopefully it's nothing more than a tweak in the field, but Kal was very sore and tight behind this morning - particularly in his hocks. Z was having a lesson with our trainer and had to stop
. His lovely, balanced canter looked like a defective washing machine. He is also very quiet in himself. I have given him some bute, put a rug on him to keep him warm in case he is brewing an illness/is feeling poorly and he is back in the field. I will reassess him tonight and tomorrow and if he is no better, will get the vet out.
You wouldn't say he is lame . . . just sore and very clicky pretty much all over but especially behind. He did work quite hard yesterday - quite a lot of work in counter canter - and one of his fieldmates left yesterday for a week-long Parelli clinic so it's possible he didn't have the most settled night/is carrying some tension. Then there's the problem mare over the fence winding the boys up
.
I am probably panicking for no reason, but given his issues I am worried. So please can I have some famous HHO get well vibes?
