Hi all - we’ve recently adopted a lovely greyhound who retired this August and would love to hear which insurance companies you’ve had positive and not so positive experiences with.
It might just help narrow down the minefield!

Any advice gratefully received ?

Had no hassle claims with Tesco and More Than previously, currently with Direct Line as I have my car insurance with them and they were super when I had an accident

Marks and Spencer! Claimed twice and haven’t had any issues. Both vets (my regular vet and a specialist) were happy to claim direct rather than get me to pay out then me claiming it back which is always positive!

I've been with Tesco for all 5 of my greyhounds for over 15 years. I've found them great, they've always been helpful, and paid out with no problems. My mum got an older rescue dog, and made a big mistake going with M&S as because of his age, she had to pay 15% of any claim! ? I so wished that she'd listened to me and gone with Tesco - I've only ever had to pay the £60 excess, no matter the age of the dog. I'm sure that paying a percentage of a claim for older animals is quite common, so definitely something to bear in mind and ask about.
