At the request of another HHO user, I thought I'd share these pics of greyhounds with cats for MotherofChickens to consider :)

Obviously I adore greyhounds and would recommend them to any deserving owner :)

I would really like one but I have been worried about how they would be with my cat. I'm planning to get a rescue one at some point but its still too close to losing my old dog. I'm so pleased to see that they can get on well with cats, I will be asking for advice on here before I go looking :)

I will freely admit that you may have to wait for a cat friendly greyhound as everyone wants one! But if you have a little patience they are wonderful with cats as you can see.

Personally I can say that my lot are awful with cats, but I knew that very well when I took them on :)

All of our rescue lurchers and greyhounds have been trained by us to live with cats. We are lucky that we have a middle-aged stunt cat who puts up with no nonsense and thinks nothing of squaring up to a 2 year deerhound/otterhound cross and giving him a good swipe if he gets too boisterous. That said, I would never leave them all in a locked room together in case something kicked off and the cat didn't have an escape route.

Agreed - but the same would apply to pretty much all dog breeds

We've got a stair gate and a door between the living room and dining room as both Lurcher and the younger cat can open doors if they set their minds to it and all 3 can jump the stair gate! Need both closed to actually separate everybody when we go out.

Love this! My Greyhound would be terrible living with a cat, however as a pet I couldn't recommend a Greyhound enough!
A wonderful breed.

My rescue lurcher attacked a little feral I had here but the feral explained exactly what the situation was, from theronin the lurcher was and is fine with cats. She does struggle with the whole concept if they run away though! She is fine if they stand still.
