greyhounds

Not necessarily, but most will have white on them. There are certain dominant colour genes in greyhounds which mean that whatever their main colour they often have white tips to their tails, white paws and white chests

Oh and my current little black greyhound has a white smudge under her chin too

i was just wondering as i have seen about a dozen blue greyhounds and they have all had white patches on them, yet our black greyhound is pure black

Ooooh you are lucky, I wanted a pure black greyhound but all the ones I have seen (or owned!) have had white paws and chests

Even my old lurcher (who was fawn) had the same white tip to his tail/paws/chest, it is odd how it comes through time after time

I dont mind what colour TBH - I cant have a brindle, still makes me cry cos it reminds me of my old girl who I lost last April

But really anything else will be OK - I'll just see what they have got

OMG yes - it has to be CALM and SENSIBLE and WELL BEHAVED
grin.gif
- i.e. nothing like bloody Flick at all, who behaves like she is on speed the whole time
grin.gif
And is also having a massive moult at the moment so the whole house is covered in white hair

I think I might go for an older one this time, the youngsters are just too lively by far

yea good idea.
luckily my two haven't moulted yet.
if i had my way i would have loads of GHs. but unforunately i have not found many that are cats friendly. we were lucky with our two and they dont bother the cats. just got to keep looking to find the perfect one

I'm glad some of you like the black greyhounds !!!
they are by far the hardest to re-home as they are often walked past.
after working with greyhounds for many years quite often its their personalities that shine through. and boy do some of them have a large personality !!

i second that! the kennel where i work now has about 60% blacks. people never choose them unless there is not another colour choice!

having said that i have ended up with a blue and a fawn so cant really comment!

We went to kennels and a black chose us. Having had him for two months now we want another but are waiting for his sister (another black) to finish on the track.
