I am sure my grey (almost white) ish hunter goes out of his way to lay in his pooh the night before a show,i have been using the new gallop for greys but still get a green tinge anyone reccomend anything else please
Blossom white horse shampoo is v good! (I'm up there using it at 6am before a show) Even tho I rug up the night before the grey ponio still manages to rub his face and neck into mud/poo/chicken poop - yuk!
Thankyou, though have tried rugs and it just seeps through he does such large poohs you would think that it was a elephant in the stable if you didnt know it was him
I've just got home from washing Berlin, I used NAF teatree oil shampoo. I don't think he's been properly bathed in literally years so he was properly stained, but he's come up lovely (see gallery for pics!). Tomorrow morning I shall be rescuing his stable stains with Horsewise waterless shampoo and CDM coat whitener. I used to cover my own grey from head to tail in winter after washing - lycra hood (was saving up for a turnout one to repel the pee!), turnout rug with neck (again to repel pee), stable bandages etc. My horse used to poo, then pee, then lay in it - very disgusting proper stains but the turnout rugs helped to minimise the muck
What about putting on a light weight t/o rug the night before a show when he is stabled? So it wont ooze through.
I find using a spray on coat conditioner helps the stains brush out on my silver white horse.
I like Hilton herbs ocean blue (I think that it what it is called) for cosmetic purposes and for when he is itchy NAF teatree oil shampoo or dermoline.
IMO you cant beat a nice clean shiny grey horse, they catch the eye more than any other colour.
