Hi don't post on here very often but just want to get experiences about dogs having tails amputated. My 8 year old golden retriever is going to have to have her tail amputated. The lump was a cyst at first which was drained but then it seemed to get infected from almost day 1 of having it drained in January and this is it three months later
The vet looked at it on Wednesday and reckons its actually gone hard and changed into a tumour and its quite hot to the touch, so she reckons the tail has to go. She'll have a bit left at the top but it'll be strange to see my amber without one.
