Help!

The bridle I got with my new boy is absolutely disgusting... The grime is layered on the bridle, I've tried to clean it 3 times but it's still gross. The normal tack cleaning doesn't seem to be touching the sides!

I feel like I want to scrape it off with a knife... or put it in the washing machine it's frustrating me so much! Any tips for me?

Thanks :)

Sponge scourer, warm water with a tiny dash of washing up liquid and elbow grease.
If the grease has really built up that needs to come off before you can just wipe with a soft cloth and plain warm water then condition, and to a certain extent the grime will protect the leather from the scourer/detergent.
Mind you, unless it was a really good quality bridle that fitted really well, I might be tempted to just buy a new one ?

As others. A dab of fairy liquid in hot water seems to get gunk off. I do Infrequently to get grease & dirt off then use tack conditioner as the fairy is pretty stripping. I clean with Albion saddle soap in the meantime

Do you use the scoured part of the sponge? I have a gunky bridle too which I bought 2nd hand, but it’s lovely and soft so I want to clean it up
