Hello,

I will be grooming for two friends at Blair this year and i want to be appropriately turned out. What is appropriate? I've only groomed at small local shows before and i don't want to let my riders down by getting it wrong!

Thanks all, some Bruader sloe whisky for any help given :)

If you are going into the show arena you will expect to be smartly dressed. I would suggest:

Checked country shirt, or something that resembles (I am currently sat in one bought from Primark that would suit)
Smart pair of workman-like jeans, ie not going out jeans
Jodpur boots/Dubarry type boots (both of these look smarter than wellies)
Flat cap/bush hat
If you have one, or can get your hands on one, a hunting waistcoat.

My sister groomed for me a county show a couple of years ago, and this is what she wore.

And don't forget your hat! I usually wear a tweed flat cap or beagler, but any hat really as is incorrect to not have one.

I also usually pop a bottle of water into the grooming bag, as most riders are appreciative of a sip of water whilst I strip the horse!
