Groomi tool

A friend had one that I got my hands on for an hour and it did a great job with hairy little shetlands! It went missing shortly after so it was good enough for someone to nick ?
 
Fair. It's not cheap. I will say that the video on their home page, in my experience of using it a few times, is accurate. Handfuls. Very satisfying.

The only thing that stopped me buying one myself would be I don't know how long the blades last with regular use and the refills are basically the price of the Groomi again for 3.
 
There are lots of brands of the same idea. Some wood and some plastic. I'd shop around for the cheaper make. I have one, the wooden SleekEZ one. I got the smaller size because I mainly use it for my dog (since my horses are clipped all year round!).
 
I will do some googling, I normally clip my ones that are in work but this year I've been a fair weather rider and not clipped so I have several yaks!
 
I can't recall which make mine are (easigroomer maybe) they are good but if you have a spare hacksaw blade and a bit of wood you could make your own.
 
I bought one last year - great on the very furry yearling but the thinner coated ones weren’t happy with it as the bits at the edge of the comb are longer and dig in if you’re holding it upright. Wouldn’t bother to replace it.
 
I bought one last summer - absolutely fabulous for my semi long haired cats & labrador, didnt find great for the ponies tbh but so glad I bought one for other animals
 
Absolutely worth it! My connie is unclipped and it sped up the shedding process by a lot! I used it every day whilst she shedded, haven't got it out this year so not sure if I need to replace the blade or if it will do another year. But even if I had to buy a new one every year I would.
 
I can't stop watching the FB videos - they are hypnotic. The way the hair comes out of that chestnut pony in handfuls is amazing. Does anyone know if they work as well on short dense coats? I assume they would? I like the idea a lot.
 
darn, it used to embed it so you could see the video without pressing the link. Any idea how I fix that? Can people still see if they don’t have Instagram?
