Grooming & Clipping

We have a spaniel, he is nervous and anxious, (yes we are working on this) the groomer we usually take him too, has just notified us she quit and is stepping away from grooming, his appointment is imminent. As i clip my own horse, i was wondering if i could possibly clip my own dog (not with the same clippers). Does anyone else clip their own dog ? or should i find someone new, who is prepared to work with us and his anxiety

I clip my own, have 2. I watched a you tube video and stayed to help the groomer first time my old dog was clipped so I could see what they did. I scissor cut them in winter and clip in summer. I use Andis 1 speed and these work well. Maybe buy 2 speed if clipping all of larger dogs rather than trimming legs? You may be able to get advise on a breed facebook page too
