HI, anyone been to Coombelands recently or live in the area? Has there been any rain over there or anyone know what the ground is like? Looking to do the unaff ODE at the end of the month but have concerns over the ground.... Thanks in advance

We've had almost no rain for 2 months - the ground is cracking.

Coombelands do usually have good grass cover though, although I am not sure I would be going XC - depends on whether you want a run or want to be competitive though.

A friend of mine has gone schooling there today - if noone else replies by the time I see her later, I will let you know what she says about the ground then!

We are local to Pulborough but haven't competed there this year. Historically it's always been really hard and the grass cover is poor. However they do their best with the take off and landing. There has been virtually no rain for two months as the previous poster already said.

Hi, I went there the other day.

Yes the ground is still hard. There is some decent grass cover in places and some of the jumps have sand take offs and landings but you just have to be sensible in the fences you choose to jump.

I didn't jump many at all and just walked between fences. I just wanted to take my lad to practice water and some ditches as it was our first outing together.

There were however other people on the course jumping everything, galloping between every jump...which imo the ground is far too hard for!
