Has anyone used these and are they good? Are you allowed to compete in them (do they give a better grip than just barefoot)? Just wondering how long they would actually last and I assume a farrier has to put these on (if nailed but also glued?).
 
Sorry, not ground control, but I use Duplo and they have been brilliant, super grip, especially on slippery roads/steep hills. No one has ever said anything when competing. Farrier nails these on same as usual (cold though) and yes, any type of fixed horse hoof covering has to be done by a farrier :-)
For my old mare it has been life changing, really put the bounce back in her step and she acts 10 years younger.
I buy direct from the manufacturer in Germany (click on English flag to turn site/shop to English) and they have been really helpful with sizing, which type etc. I use the green Extras with clips and increased profile for grip.
