I always used to feed Baileys Outshine and have recently tried D&H Build and Glow as it is slightly cheaper - I only feed these in small amounts to get a lovely shine on my horses. However I am wondering if there is a cheaper way and have heard about feeding ground linseed but I can't seem to find this anywhere. Can anyone help or suggest any alternatives please?

We feed linseed lozenges: basically ground & cooked linseed, bought direct from the feedmill, and swear by them. 2.5kg for £3-4 ish I think? a handful in their feeds works out to last them ages anyway.

Not sure why no branded people sell them. You could always go the old fashioned route and cook your own linseed...?

look on charnwood milling website - they sell micronised ground full fat linseed meal - its about £31 delivered for sack - lasts about 4 months!! feed 150gm a day (about mugful) for coat shine. good for joints too as has omega 3

Codlivine sell linseed lozenges in branded tubs (they call them flakes, but they're the same as the lozenges I get from the feed store). They cost twice as much as the lozenges in bags from the feed store!

I've been recommended Charnwood Mills for the meal, but haven't got round to ordering any yet:

I use linseed meal from Charnwood, i also feed Seaquim. This pony has only been getting a these 2 supplements, Suregrow and Showshine chaff all winter, shiny coat or what ?? (pic taken last week)
