ground work/long reining tips and ideas

for a horse returning to work- slowly! can start some very basic ground work in walk inc walking over poles. has had 3 months of with a ligament/soft tissue injury so very important this is done slowly. cant really lunge him yet but vets say i can do some basic ground work..... any tips or ideas?? i'm currently lacking any interesting ideas and i'm sure the vets dont mean just standing and looking at each other clueless for 10 mins!!!!! help!
 
Could you set up 'obstacle courses' for you to long line round with poles/cones etc? You could weave through the cones, set up labyrinth type obstacles with poles, use just wings - without cups - to squeeze between, tarpaulin to walk over, the occasional raised pole etc?

I did all this when my last horse was returning to work and it kept us both amused! :D
