I have a 4 year old who is currently off, partly due to me getting a injury and also he needs to fill out a bit.

He is being kept on livery so stabled at night, ideally I would of liked to of turned him our for winter but this is not a option at my yard.

Anyway he is new to me and to create a bond and give him something to think about I wanted to do a little ground work with him, no lunging or that though. Maybe just take him out his stable once or twice a week into the school for say 10 / 20 mins.

Anybody have any ideas that I can do with him..?? He is a very quiet natured boy. I thought maybe something with poles etc and was just looking for some ideas.

I long line my 4 year old. Well, technically I have someone who is capable of doing it right long line her!! I'm terrible. We try to get her working in circumstances she might encounter with a rider... So work her in corner of jumps field with other horses galloping in their field next to her. Also in the school. Also long line her out with other horses on hack and teach her to leave them calmly.
I bred her myself but she went to the wrong home early this year so I've had her back in order to try to rewind the issues and start everything from scratch in a calm rewarding way
