Im not allowed to ride for 6 weeks due to having surgery.
I think in a few days I will be up to lunging etc.

Can you recommend any ground work exercises with poles etc to keep my TB ticking over and prevent him getting bored and dizzy?!

Or books you can recommend with ground work exercises?

Thanks

Agree with the above, long reining is great fun. There are loads of different polework combinations that you can set up to keep both you and ponio entertained.

Have a look on pintrest as well, there are stacks of images of interesting polework recommendations to try

I will have look at Pinterest, I did join ages ago but have never really looked at it!

Hindquarter yield, turn on the forehand etc. from the ground should really help to keep him supple while he's not doing as much work . Also, lateral flexion each day has done wonders for maintaining my boy's flexibility! For pole-work you could try one of those box/squares things with four poles- there are hundreds of exercises you can do with bending and so on using one of those.
Of course, simple lunging like you say is also fantastic for keeping him fit and healthy, so definitely a good call!
Hope this helps :))

^^ I agree :) I've been working on lateral work from the ground with my mare before I try it on board, and it is amazing how quickly they come on with it.

I'm expecting perfect shoulder in when I get back on haha
