My horse has a small thoroughpin on his off hind hock which wasnt that noticeable but is seems to of grown over the last week or so. Does anyone know why it might of grown, will it affect him in anyway and is there anything I can do to prevent it from growing any bigger? He does have very **** feet will that affect it in anyway? Sory about all the questions, I just don't want anything bad to happen to him.
Thanks :)

Has your vet seen it and given you his/her opinion on it? Sure it's a thoroughpin and not a bog spavin?

Might have 'grown' from stress, hard ground, strain, a slip, etc.
Old horse I knew at my old yard had thoroughpins in both back legs from a previous bad lami attack, from the strain of having the weight on his hocks the whole time. Give away for whenever things were happening in his front feet again was when the TP's would go larger again and owner just had to be careful of work on hard ground, turnout, etc.

I'll ask the vet next time he's out. He's never had any problems with it before and I just guesst it was thouroughpin because it was soft. Prehaps the hard ground may of caused it but he's not the type of horse to go galloping round and do something stupid, he's to lazy!! Thanks for your help anyway
