I know, i know i shouldnt have done it but was soooo much fun! at the weekend me and my lovely midget had a giggle and proceeded to make my dad pee himself laughing. Whilst me and dad were poo picking i decided to pop on him and see if i could get him going round the field, went to kick him on and he wasnt interested, so tried again, nothing! Then out of no where the nervous one decided to tank past him so the midget decided to do the same.... errr i'm still here!!

now when your used to riding 16hh theres not a lot to grab onto a shetland so ended up clinging onto his neck with him charging around throwing in his mini little bucks, then all of a sudden he goes left then right and i go straight out the side door and land in a heap in the hedge laughing my head off, opps!!

he came back over to me to see i was ok then bombed off again! Dad at the same time is creased up shouting to me that it served me right and that i was a right plonker

Used to ride the old shetland when he was perhaps unsure of something to give him some confidence, and was let out of the side door on more than one occasion.

More recently was demonstrating canter to my children, got on, said "now, watch", headed over to bottom of field, trotted round (no stirrups or hat) and pushed him into canter. Got to the top of the field and the children hadnt watched at all! So turned him round, made sure they were watching (and by this time the neighbours were watching too) and tried again. Except he stretched his head down, and his saddle being a flat saddle meant that i slipped fowardsand slid slowly down his neck until I hit the deck.

I fractured my coxyx

Snoopysue, if you have a tiny one, the chances are he shouldn't be ridden full stop.
I have two minis (under 31 inches) and they just are not meant to be sat on full stop. All to do with the way the legs are apparently.

PMSL! That's brilliant!

Got to say that I have been tempted to get on Gretel and see what she's like - I'll take heed of your warning!
