Shes ripped a MASSIVE hole in her flymask, making it totally useless.

This one cost me £25 and the local tackshop only has these in her size (small pony)

Dont want to part with another £25 as im 100% sure this one would go the same way.

So a q ..

Are those fly fringes (that attach to headcollar) actually worth buying?

Depends on what you want it for. My cob X wears a fly fringe. He is hogged so I've taken away his natural fly whisk - it seems only fair to give him one back!

But if you really need to keep flies away from your mare's eyes for some reaon there is no alternative to a fly mask. All a fringe does is help the pony whisk them away if they want to.

There are good reasons to keep flies completely away from the eyes - uveitus, conjunctivitus, sweet itch and probably a host of other stuff I can't spell. But if these are not a probelm, as they are not for my lad, I find just letting him deal with the flies in his natural way (plus fly repellant!) is just fine.
