I'm looking for a second hand saddle for new TB, so really needs to be medium or narrow/medium fitting, thing is I want something thats a 16.5 inch seat, but they are all wide or extra wide fitting!!!!

Sorry working from home today and a bit bored....felt like a mini rant

I want the same but need a 17.5 dressage saddle.

Everything I ahve come across is out of my budget and the one I did find the person on ebay stitched me up

Thats half the problem, i'm not wanting to spend a fortune....I did that on my mare, brand new £900 saddle and then a month later she was lame! Shame hers wont fit, it wouldn't even fit his bum its an extra extra wide!!

Seen a nice one on ebay for £200, ideal gp narrow, waiting to hear back on the measurements though....and peter husband doesn't have any saddles in stock unles I get him to make one and I dont want to do that because of the cost!!

I've just bought a brand new treeless saddle for £560 for mine. They won't suit everyone but worth a look? I trialled it first from these guys

Which meant I had the chance to have a lesson etc on it and get it fitted (just to check) before I committed myself. People are selling second hand ones on ebay for less than £300. The one I bought is a Barefoot London, their dressage model, and is the brand that my chiro thinks is good, given their fit and price.

It is getting harder to find good second hand saddles and people who truely can fit them.

I have a difficult to fit warmblood and desparately needed a saddle for him. Several people off the forum recommended Bridlepath International (from Suffolk but they travel). They came out yesterday and did three saddle checks/refits and actually had several saddles that fit the difficult warmblood. Seriously impressed with their service, they will not sell you something that does not fit and know their stuff. If you google Bridlepath International you will find their website.

Fortunately I have a great fitter/saddler (whatever he is - peter husband), who will come out and fit/adjust/flock/repair a saddle but he doesn't stock any, but will make his own.

So its the finding something myself that it hard, and as you say its really hard to find a decent second hand saddle now, particulary one thats small enough for me, but not a 'pony' saddle and wide!
