Hi
Does anyone know if I have any redress on the seller of my new lorry. It was advertised as having central heating and the sale note said all electrics checked and working. The heating is not working and the new part could be up to £1000 and the lights keep blowing the fuses. It cost me over £23000.

I think it depends on whether the seller was private or trade. I would think if private, then you would have no redress as you should have checked it before you bought it. If trade, then yes, you should be able to get it sorted. You have my sympathies. I bought a horse box about 18 months ago from a trader. I got it home, did the checks and found out it had been clocked - by around 100,000 miles. The engine was shot. It took me nearly six months to get him to exchange it. I think he thought that I would forget about it an go away!

If you have a copy of the advert and it states all is working then you can take action.
Get a quotation for the work required to repair it and then ask the sellers for the money.
If they refuse to pay then take them to the smalls claim court.
If you are a BHS Gold Member then you can get free legal advise.
