Just had another letter from Derby House this morning to confirm order details. They sent me one last week to confirm that I did still want my mane and tail rake - I ordered it over a month ago. So I phoned them up again this morning and they said that my card had bounced and I said rubbish as I got paid the week before last and know I still have loads on it. They tried it again and it passed fine - then I asked if they were taking payment was my rake on its way and they said 'oh it's not arrived yet but we should get the container in the next 7 to 10 days. ARGHHHH and they still are promoting it in their Summer sale leaflets. Why are do they sell stuff that they don't have in stock and which wont come in for weeks without telling you at point of sale?
Am so annoyed, anyone else had any problems with delivery from DH?

That's the way with them andm ost mail order companies it seems. if they truly have it in stock fast delivery and everyone is happy buti fnot you end up waiting ages and ages.
My boyfirend ordered me a Mark Todd excersie fleece on christmas, it arrived in June

Even worse by then the horse had been retired! Remind me must put it on ebay.
If you wait long enough you do usually get the item is all I can say.

Yep - had to wait over a month for a bridle... then 2 more weeks for the reins... then another month before I got my spurs and straps 8-)

I wont order from them again after all that!

i had problems with robinsons so now pay for special delivery. they had told me they had left package in the back!! go knows how!! you cant get into my back unless you walk through the house!!! when pointed out this they then said left with neighbour, i only have one!! i checked and she never had it back on phone again and a month later finally got my order!!.......had already been out to buy the rug as horsey needed them!!

I was waiting ages for an exercise sheet. Everytime I rung them they would lie to me saying they had just recieved them in but not unpacked them. In the end I cancelled my order with them and went elsewhere.

I've just cancelled an order with them last week - I'd been waiting over a month for some bandages! I called last week and was told they were out of stock but that they'd be in within a couple of days, called again this week to be told they still weren't in stock and when I cancelled my order I was told that it would be another 3 weeks anyway!!! Why can't they tell you when you order??

I ordered a double bridle and saddle cover from them last week. Got the double bridle yesterday, the saddle cover was out of stock. Waiting to see how long it takes to come.
Had problems with them before, I just kept emailing and ringing them till they sent it.

in the same order i had 2 things delivered straight away. the others i emailed twice with no reply then finally rang them and cancelled the rest of the order.
why cant they at least reply to the email and tell you when they expect the stock in?
so does anyone recommend an online tack shop???

They use to be really good years ago. I havent mail ordered of them since then though.
I called in at the new shop. Didnt like it one bit to the old one & the sales assistants were not friendly.
As I was walking up one of the allys betwwen the boot towards the cafe/babour area, 2 men talking 1 must of been the saddle fitter & was talking about someone wanting their old saddle re fitting to their horse. The other chap just said "Sell them a new one dont bother re fitting the old as its just not worth the hassle & we dont make enough money."
I couldn't believe it & they knew I was there!!

Stock was very poor in the shop 2. I was looking at the hats the champion & HS1 skulls & they only had them in size 2.5 no other sizes!??????

Gone down hill in my estimation.

They were so friendly & helpful at the old place

Please don't judge all mail order/retail websites by Derby House's poor performance. My family run company only displays items which are in stock and anything which goes out of stock is automatically removed from the site until it is back in stock. We occasionally make mistakes but, on the whole, if an item is on our site we can ship it the same day and we don't charge any extra for this service. On the odd occasion when we haven't got an item in stock we notify the customer immediately to let them know when their order will be despatched and to give them the option of having their card refunded immediately.

Yup, waited over a month for my girth to come, went and bought one from badminton while I was waiting so now I have two.
Ordered some mark todd breeches from them two weeks ago, rang them yesterday and they are not going to be in stock till 10/11th july so won't have them for at least another 2 weeks, i wish they would tell you when you order things that they are not in stock!
As someone else said though, if you wait long enough you usually do get the item!

I am having a similar problem with Frogpool Manor. To be fair to them, a lot of the manufacturers are appalling at deliverying to them. My yard tack shop had the rep for 1 of their suppliers (I won't say which) phone them up asking if they wanted to place another order. They still had not delivered the previous order placed 2 months earlier! They called this supplier to chase an item for me and got told 1 story. I called them 2 days later and got told a different story.

Same problem here - I ordered a load of bits and bobs from them online and paid £15 for next day delivery because I needed it next day due to leaving for an event. I got an email next day advising me that everything apart from a packet of little rubber 'O's to go on rug x-surcingle clips was out of stock and that they had sent them next-day delivery and that everything else would follow. I specifically told them that I needed everything urgently before ordering. Needless to say the air turned blue and they refunded me in full - I cancelled the order. Still, they seem to send me a copy of their catalogue every week!

You've beaten me then... I ordered some spurs at easter. Still not arrived, after several promises they would be 2 weeks etc...! Will chase it now I've been reminded!

Derby House have gone massively downhill IMO, they are useless at delivering stuff in a reasonable time.

I can highly recommend Stockley Saddlery though - Stockleyonline.com I think. They have been superb - I wanted some dressage reins at Longleat horse Trials, did not have them in black so they took my name and told me to ring and order and they would not charge me postage - they did exactly as promised and they arrived the next day - brilliant! They are my new favourite online store, and always buy from them at events too as the staff on the stand are so friendly and nice. They are very competitively priced too. And no, I do not work for them!!

Can recommend heartily wwwequestrianclearance.com - very fast and accurate delivery and no problem with returns.
Also Ride-Away = superb!
However, thumbs down for Country Supplies. Ordered some breeches, got confirmation email and card was debited.
A week later, card refunded - NO explanation, NO sorry it's not in stock- nothing. v v v BAD!

i palced an order with DH on 28 feb, last week i cancelled after months of the wrong szise, colour, brand of stuff coming and repeatedly being sent back and then sent out wrong again, and again and again.
lost a good customer
