And actually winter full stop!!

The snow I could live with, I could get to the yard, we could use the school, Taffy could be turned out, ok everything was hard but at least it was dry.

Now with the rain on the other hand... I can still get to the yard and I can still use the school. However, as our winter fields have been so trashed recently, neds are in when it rains to stop them churning fields up even more and YO doesn't like them standing in wet muddy fields as she doesn't want them getting mud fever - which I completely understand and I don't want my boy to get mud fever. But I still wish he was out. Most of our bridlepaths are clay so are really boggy - Taff has an aversion to mud and water so I spend half my time convincing him there are no monsters hiding in the mud and the rest trying to keep my legs and knees out of the way of branches etc where once I've persuaded him there are no monsters in the mud, he sidles round the edge as close to the trees (there are lots!) as possible and nearly loses me in the process - oh, and then he spooks/snorts/scoots off when I yank my leg out of the way or yelp where I've just collided with the tree! I'm sick of wet soggy tack that turns to cardboard and a wet soggy horse who beetles back into his stable at top speed casting me filthy looks and muttering about 'mud monsters'. I'm fed up with a constantly wet soggy, extremely dirty, very smelly dog who has reduced the back of my car to something resembling a muckheap. The dog is the only one who appreciates the rain and mud...

Actually I'm pretty fed up with winter altogether,

it seems to have lasted much longer than any other winter and I just want some sunshine now pleeeeeaaasssseeee.

And a dry horse, dry clean tack, a dry clean (unsmelly) dog, dry fields and dry bridleways. Do you think that's too much to hope for?? Anyone else feeling the winter blues?

Excuse the rant - cookies and very large glass of wine for any who have got this far...

I'm in Surrey too and am sick to death of this rain. It's just been non-stop all day.

Just count yourself lucky that your windscreen wipers didnt pack in this morning on your way to work, and that your car is not currently in a garage costing you £300 for a new wiper motor!

and I'm supposed to have a lesson tonight after cancelling the one on friday because of the weather i'm going to have to cnacell again!
Rant over!

Whole heartedly agree - completely fed up with the incessant rain and can't wait for spring.... It hasn't stopped raining all day here.

With you 100%. Bring back the snow. It's rained here for the past 24 hours almost non-stop and I'M FED UP OF IT.

No fun working outdoors in this rubbish weather.

My dogs loved the snow but they're looking at me begging not to go out in the rain! My car's disgusting, I could never offer anyone a lift! Still, it's getting lighter...

Me too very very fed up and actually wishing I didn't have a horse at the moment. Fields are just a complete mud bath but have no option other than to turn out as my mare goes potty if she has to stay in for more than one day at a time. All I want is dry warm sunny days and no damn mud.

Yep !! It's bloody horrid, I'd far rather have snow than all this rain, fields getting trashed so can only turn out for a couple of hours.........if it carries on wont be able to turn out at all !!

I'm like a drowned rat tonight having forgotten to take a hat to the yard. It's chucking it down but turned to snow on the way back.

Dread to think how waterlogged the fields are going to be once the snow finally thaws. Gulp.
