is anyone trying to get hold of the liveryman/eddie palin blade wash?

i am and its being a nightmare (and worse at a decent price). i managed to get some in January this year (6 tins) but stupidly left them in my landy which got stolen

ive called 3 companies who have it on their website, only to be told its not in stock. i placed an order online, queried when it was going to be delivered as havent heard anything only to be told they are still awaiting their delivery and should be next week now.

seems a hige problem getting hold of it but its the only one i like, and with it being a pressurised can it gets into the little nooks on my clippers

i use lincoln oil aeresol, had my liverymans six years now and never had a problem... works great less fuss and easier to use mid clipping

well i do lol. just gets all the grease etc off the bits and piece inside the head of the clippers and off the blades.
maybe im just anal about cleaning them lol

if i find a supplier ill get you some

Lol - that would be great. I was joking as a dig at my own bridle cleaning regime but I really should be cleaner.

I actually cleaned my bridle last weekend as I was going to a comp but I shall try to keep it up once I get a bridle to match my saddle.

i bet your clippers are still covered in your boys hair arent they lol

has he given you a date of when hes going to have yours ready?

He showed me some bridles but didn't have many - think he thought I was skint so showed me some budget ones.

They didn't match my saddle and were a bit yuck (he hadn't made these) so I said I'd keep looking in saddle shops and if I got stuck would give him a call. He was in a bit of a rush on the day. I do love my saddle though, very comfy and Mol appears to like it although Jack's saddle is being hard to get used to....has shown me I need to get my legs back more and heels down though!

The cob needs clipped again this weekend - poor man!

I never wash my blades only ever spray and wipe with a cloth they get a lot of useage at the yard in winter hell in summer for that matter, ears, muzzles, fetlocks etc so the blades get sent back for sharpening about once a month maybe they clean them dunno

maybe it could explain then why everyone is amazed at how many clips i get out of my blades. i rarely have to get them sharpened - only do it at the end of clipping season so they are ready for the following season. definitely dont do them once a month - might get up to 8/9 full clips out of a pair of blades.

i know what you mean about the cost - its expensive buying a new saddle

but he knows me too well, selling me a saddle that colour ive got to have everything to match - hoping its all done for before Christmas

yes you best get them legs back - much better for your position though in that dressage saddle, hope you and Jackson are feeling better together in it

yeah the joy of clipping - ive got Chant and Willow to do again this weekend, go to get them tarted up ready for lots of riding next week - then its hunting with Chant on the 11th
grin.gif
so shell need another before then aswell

Yay! Can't wait to read your hunting post - as I'm a wimp I shall have to live the dangerous stuff through you!

Don't forget yard show on 22nd if you can make it - jumps were brought up to top yard from field this week so looks like jumping will be in outdoor menege.
I shall go clean my blades if you get more clips out of them - blooming well cost me enough to buy first time without needing money for sharpening!

im looking forward to it, very local and had a personal invite

yes def still on for the 22nd - willow wont be ready though for that one lol so ill just bring Chant

it comes as second nature to me now to clean the clippers/blades as soon as ive finished. i clipped Chant every 3-4weeks last winter, plus the odd clip on Flighty and Ebi, then clipped Willow this year and i only had to send the blades away once. that reminds me, i must go pick my other blades up tomorrow - will see if Baxters have the blade wash whilst im there.

Hi All,

If you want to get hold of blade wash and dont have a stockist near you I know it is in the mail order mags, Derby House, Ride Away and Robinsons.

Hope this helps
