Went down this morning to take rug off my boy, and my mare, who is on restricted grazing due to her weight was on the wrong side of the electric fence. The fence was completely intact, so I can only assume she had rolled underneath a part of it that is only a single strand at the top....will be adding an extra strand this weekend methinks

Pointless post really

My 4yo used to do this! Every morning she would be in the strip of nice lush grass between the electric fencing and normal fencing in her field with the electric fencing intact - it was like she had learnt to limbo! She always had a guilty look on her face though when we arrived in the morning

My energiser has just packed up 5 days ago and my mare who is 16.1hh is tilting her head under the bottom rope to eat from the other side. Because she cant hear the pulse she is just pushing a bit more so that the posts are lifting out the ground - then freedom grrrr

I've ordered a new energiser but its not coming till Tuesday so I'm bringing her in on a night for safety. Bloomin horses!!

Know exactly how frustrating it is!!

My mare keeps doing this too even though I've had two strands of tape up.

Have ended up tying flapping plastic bags to the top line of tape to discourage her from going too near and, fingers crossed, she has not went over for the past 3 days!!!!

very often not the energiser that is the problem. the wind breaks the metal filaments in the tape and shorts it out! cheaper to renew tape than enegiser! and make sure under he fence is either eaten or strimmed. you can always turn horse out very wet!!! wont try it again once it gets a decent belt off the fence.
