Warm salt water
Dry off by rubbing in salt..... with towel in mouth to muffle screams.....

Make note not to handle without gloves ever again (but I expect you have already done this )

When I had it happen to me, I used ice to keep it cool, well actually I used the cold compress that goes on your horses leg, really helped.

I feel your pain , had this a couple of months ago! was so painful, was just on the bend on my index finger, took ages to heal! always wear gloves when lunging now, pesky horses

Only grabbed the line to help the handler from being dragged down the road at warp speed. I didn't fancy the idea of scraping her up, or phoning the owners that the horse had to be scraped up too!

Had this really badly few months ago....even broke 2 fingers aswell, ouch! Mine covered both hands are were very deep in places so had to have trip to a and e where they cleaned and covered the worst bits with non stick dressing but once uncovered after a couple of days I found savlon iodine spray brilliant as it didn't sting when put on, is antiseptic and is a dry spray so helped heal. Was told to avoid creams as needed to let wounds dry.
Now have gloves hidden everywhere!
