Sorry feel the need to rant (at myself - lol)
Got to yard tonight at a reasonable time (for once) it wasn't raining (for once) and the school was free (pretty unheard of) I'd even worked out a proper plan for what I was going to work on.

Cue 5 yr old mare of mine - came in ok but was fretting like mad when I put saddle on and something had spooked her as she was all rolling eyes and poo. Anyway, moved her outside (better) and got on with things. Got to school and she bucked and bucked like an idiot - sent her on and she did it again, (rodeo horse!) but she was really scared rather than naughty. Tried to calm her down by being quiet and soft with her but no avail. Anyway to cut a long story short - I got off and lunged her. Got back on again after that but was too tense to do much but trot work as she was still being an idiot. So I took her in.
So cross with myself now for not riding her through it - feel like proper idiot and wimpy rider that horse takes p out of! GRRRRRR

dont be angry with yourself,we all have bad moments,if you couldnt push here through it then it was good to lunge her so she didnt totally get away with it and you got rid of a bit of energy in her !!
i have times like that as well.
lol at the dinner thats also the sort of thing i do !!! when one thing goes wrong it all goes wrong !!!!

Yes tomorrow is another day - the weather forecast is good so get out there and remember you are a confident, capable rider!!!

hmm... must repeat that 5 times before bed tonight. lol

Calmed down a bit now (and managed to salvage the dinner) - here's hoping mare's got it all out of her system before our SJ at the weekend!

Was it windy up your way today? It was really windy here and mine are always complete morons when it's like that.

We've all been there. You'll go up tomorrow and everything will be absolutely fine! Have a nice glass of something, chill and forget about today.

Not windy but there's a football field/sports centre just across from our grazing - it's been empty for the last 6 weeks as they've sprayed the grass etc but today was in full swing.

Now I've only had this mare 6 weeks - not that I'm making excuses but first time she's seen a bunch of (unfit) 40-something blokes charging about after a ball and yelling a lot... can't say i blame her!

Prilly - great advice - now if I could just find that corkscrew....
