Why do some car owners feel the need to drive around with flapping England flags out of the front windows of their cars leading up to and during the World Cup? Riding down single track roads with blind bends isnt compatible to meeting some idiot driving too fast with these flags flapping.. Wonder if any accidents were caused by them last time?

I've started to get twitchy about these too - they seem to be getting bigger as well. I spose these are just peeps who have no idea the impact they could have on horses. Not to mention how bloody tacky they are - any horse would be entitled to have a problem with them imho.

A car parked outside earlier had a ball attached to it's aerial with an england flag (naturally) waving behind it. Sorry to sound thick, but when does that football thingy start and end anyway ?

That's nothing compared to the awful 20 minutes I had to endure with the feral scum occupying the Tube yesterday - they were coming back from the Millwall game.

The World Cup starts 11th June and ends 11th July. I suspect England might not last that long though given the lacklustre performance against Japan.

haha, so four blissful weeks to look forward too. It won't be long before the flapping scarves hanging out the window grace our eyesight too :D

My YO has them on her car. The horses all had a look the first time, and now aren't bothered so with any luck should we meet a car with them on it won't be a problem.

OMG is that the only answer - we all have to don them and drive round the yard. Oh my life ! But I think the boy may be highly allergic and reactive to the cheap nylon T shirts too.............you're not suggesting ????:eek::p

But then you'd have to buy the news of the world and I would rather die before I did that.

Anyway, they're still creating drag which can't help. Like having a roof rack when you don't need one.

Our yard is very patriotic:rolleyes:
Me and a couple of my liveries have been hanging flags small and large out, practicing flapping them about etc. Even have some bunting that we use now too.
We have seen some about on cars and vans and so far so good, very little reaction from our horses.

They are very very tacky though...

Someone on my facebook put this and i soooooo agree................

A Professor has found after extensive research there are two sizes of penis amongst UK men. There are those which fall within the normal size range and those which are less than 2 inches while erect. The professor has appealed for help to continue his research. Could all men in the UK with extremely small penises make ...themselves known over the next 6 weeks by flying a white flag with a red cross from their cars

made me chuckle lol.

I have to ride on a path at the side of a main road with just a narrow verge between us and the traffic. Lots of cars don't bother slowing down and pass us at 50mph +++ My horse is great in really heavy traffic but spooky with flappy things so you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to meeting cars decked out with flags!

I find football incredibly boring anyway (give me a good game of rugby any day!) so the sooner this is all over with the better as far as I'm concerned. Baah humbug!

This has just hit the H&H homepage.
Sorry to hear people are having accidents - Luckily I havent met one yet - but im planning to stick a few around the stables!

Trouble is - The average footie fan is unlikely to take the flags down as soon as england is out - previous Euro's ect have told me that these flags will be up until the autumn or till they fall apart.

Would it be going too far to make flyers - and stick them under the windscreen wipers of cars at the supermarket - Call me old fashioned and silly - but that girl on the homepage is hurt - and so many incidents will happen!

my 4yro encountered these the other day on his 9th or 10th (ever) hack- didn't even bat an eye at them.

however at 17.2hh they aren't exactly at his eye height :)

I have one! Sorry! I've passed a few horses, slowed right down as per usual, and not one has had a look. My horse (and my friend's scatty arab) don't seem to notice them either.

JOKE...

The government is worried that men's willy's are getting smaller. To find out how great the problem is, they have asked all men with penis's smaller than three inches to put a white flat with a red cross on their car or house...1
