Just a rant as I know you guys understand!

Got to my field today to see my electric fencing kocked down. They even kicked off the connectors on my wooden fence posts as well!!! Because they knocked the fence down, Hattie got into the field I was keeping her out of due to the Grazon 90 crap the FO insists on spraying everywhere, and now she has blisters going all the way up her mouth from the stuff aggravating the ones that were healing from eating contaminated grass all night! Grrrrr......

Oh no, how awful!!

Bet it was a bunch of kids drinking down on the embankment, got bored and wandered up to see what havoc they could cause?!?!

Hope Hattie gets better soon, could have been alot worse!!!

There has been a problem with kids drinking/smoking up/hanging about the lane lately. There was a burnt out car last weekend where they dumped and torched it before running away form the cops. They tried to drive across the cow field and smashed through the barbed wire fence. There is one girl who sleeps in her car after drinking can after can of Strongbow (there are cans littered all around her car when you get there in the morning).

It's getting to be a known spot for trouble makers! I asked Andy (do you remember him, he has the sheep next door) today if anyone came on his field last night and he said that his locks on his sheds had been messed about with.

My OH is going to put in a complaint with the police as it's just getting worse with the yobs and they know they can get away with stuff on the lane as there is that bit where I am, that no cars can drive on.

Your best bet would be to get in contact with your local rural community police officer and ask him to include your place on his patrols of the area.

I used to babysit down there and could see the glowing from cigarettes in the embankment from the kitchen window!

I'd freak myself out over it all the time and then say get a grip you're being paranoid, until one night three guys came to try and steal the land rover!!!!

We used to get quite a bit of trouble down there, with people letting the horses out during the night, trying to break in the tack room, racing cars up and down the drive etc!

Yeah I remember Andy, I saw him the other day but I don't think he recognised me! I'm sure he had one of his caravans down there broken into/burnt down once?!?

I don't think we have a rural community police officer do we?

The problem is because its walking distance from the village (don't picture a country village, total opposite, haha!) and the fact there's a drinking ban they all just wander down and cause havoc there instead and the police don't want to know because they're out of the way!

Sorry that you're having problems and {{{Vibes}}} to Hattie.

I do know it's wrong with child labour and that children should be allowed to be children and have fun and play but I still think that at least some of those children that causes problem, wouldn't be doing that if they had more things they had to do, more responsibilities.

I'm not surprised you are upset, I would be too, poor Hattie.
FinnishLaphund, I agree. Kids should have responsibilities, to both occupy them and teach them some respect.

These aren't little kids though, they are older teenagers like 16/17/18/19. I use the term "kid" in the loosest possible sense and alot of them are "young adults".

I'm not THAT old at 33 and i remember when I was that age (it wasn't that long ago, LOL!) and it NEVER occured to me to even go and smash someone elses stuff up.

There is a gate on the lane to stop cars fromusing it as a rat run from one town to the next, but it is a public right of way and a designated bridle path so although the big gate is locked (I have a key), there is a smaller gate to the side that you can ride or walk through. And unfortunately, it's through that little gate that the neanderthals come. Even if it was locked after a certain time, these yobs have been known to come through the canal and the back fields to get to this lane for their pi*ss ups.

LOL, can't leave my big dog there as she'd walk back home!

I don't care if they're 10 or 20 years old, I still say that I think it is obvious that they have to much free time on their hands. I think Donklet put it better than me "Kids should have responsibilities, to both occupy them and teach them some respect."

And if your big dog would walk home if you tried leaving her there, how about you bring a sleeping bag, dog and camera and stay a night now and then for a while? And go there without your car or have someone pick it up so everything looks normal?

I wouldn't want to tackle any of these yobs though if I slept there, these types think nothing of stamping on your head for a laugh (read any UK newspaper and it's always packed with news stories of innocent people getting beaten to death by yobs). Police don't do nothing and when the victim tries to defend themselves, they get done by the police!

I'm going to ask Andy for some more barbed wore to wrap around the gate, at least if they try to get over, they will tear their clothes.

Yes, a shotgun is ideal but I would probably end up pointing it at me by mistake! LOL!
