When Im not riding I usually carry my left shoulder very slightly, but noticeably higher than my right, as does my father. It gets really tense when Im stressed, or its cold or I need to do loads of typing. It can be really painful. I mainly sleep on my right. I find Obilicious hips exercise easier when lying on my left.
My instructor has given me a couple of horse back exercises that help me lower it and shift it back to where it belongs for riding. My left foot hangs beautifully(ish) with the heal down and the stirrup on the ball of the foot. My right toe points down like a ballerinas and the stirrup climbs up towards my ankle. I twist in on the left rain, particularly in canter or when asking for the transition up from trot. My instructor recons the problem is really my left hip and made that noise mechanics make when repairing your car is going to cost more than buying a new one.
Given that I cant really get a new hip (Im 25) has anyone got any suggestions to stop me twisting in and to sort out my right foot.
