I got my Mark Todd Cook winter riding boots today in the post and the flippin' things are too small!! I even ordered a size larger than my normal shoe size and can barely get my feet into them (and when I do, they feel like my normal shoe size instead of a bit big) and I can't do up the zippers on them!

Before ordering, I checked the MT size chart for he boots and even measured my calves and am well within the size range they give. I don't even have big legs or thick ankles either! I'm so disapointed as the next size up is all sold out and they seem lovely and warm too. Now, I'm going to have to shell out on postage too to send them back :(

I had the same thing. I went into countrywide to have a look at some last winter. Tried them on in my size, 6 and they wouldn't fit. Tried them on in a size 7, the feet fitted alright, but I couldn't get the zip up past my ankles!!!! And my ankles are quite small. I would say my feet and calf length/width are pretty average but these boots just would not zip up....so got some Ariats instead :)

i hve a pair in size 4. they were very very tight doing up the zip to start with and every so often when they muddy, i struggle to do them up. but i spray on some furniture polish and this does the job, but yes they are very small on the sizing. mine are about a year old now so the lining has squashed down and they're not so tight on the feet.

I had mine about three weeks ago and got a size bigger than usual. I had to have the wide fitting, and I too am having problems with the lower part of the zip.

I'm going to try the furniture polish tip, as I REALLY love these boots, they are so warm and I've worn them every day in the frost and snow (only got the chance to ride in them once before it came!). At the moment I am using a hoof pick through the zip to pull it up, but am worried I'm going to break it.

The joys of buying online. Dont want to be a told-you-so but thats what saddlery shops are for. try before you buy!

I don't drive though and the tack shops around me (after trekking to three last weekend with by OH begrudgingly taking me) have NOTHING in my size or budget :( Or stock crap. If I were a size 24" waist or took a size 4 shoe, then it would be different but otherwise, it's online shopping for me.

Are these the ones with fur inside that come in brown or black? If so I have a pair and while I find them fine they are certainly snug!

My main bugbear atm is the Derby House boots I waited for for nearly a month and then they were way too big... I just didn't have the stomach to send them back... but they are the warmest footwear I've ever owned and in this weather plenty of room for extra socks.
