and they are not even 6 months old!!

For the past few weeks I have been trying to fathom out why my feet were getting so wet, I had been putting it down to me splashing water down my legs when carrying my water buckets as im not the steadiest of people.

However I have managed to have a look at them in detail tonight and it looks like the sole is coming away from the body of the boot

Not happy, they were bought as a gift for My Birthday back in April (£120), surely they should last longer than this especially as I only use them for light work

Has anyone else had any problem like this with theirs? up until now they have been great. I still have the box, not sure about the receipt, have the transaction on a bank statement if that means anything?

Do I take them back to the shop where they were purchased from for them to send them back to where they got them from or contact Dublin direct?? p.s spent my lunch break looking for a contact for Dublin customer services but could not find one on their site

They should last a lot longer than 6 months, they should change them for you

Nothing seems to be made so well these days, have had probs with Mountain Horse and Ariat recently, both makes used to last years, now you are lucky to be able to wear them out of the house!

Oh no I got a pair which i love, had no problems touch wood (now got splinters from patting my head) ive had them since january,

I used to keep them clean and tidy but that didnt last long they are covered in muck from our soggy muck heap and still no leaky bits when I hose them every night.

I would have expected them to last a hell of a lot longer than 7 months,

Are they still newish looking (if you have only used them lightly)
cant you just take them back to shop and say you have only had them a "few months" and say you havent got receipt for them as they were a gift, see what they say.

My boots aren't leaking but I've worn them no more than a dozen times and the lining has come out of one of the boots! Not impressed in the slightest as it was the onetime I treated myself to something!!

Will def be keeping an eye on the advice on this post!!

Ooh no was going to buy some of these oo actually the new dublin river boots I was looking at, is there any difference in them?

But I had toggi calgary ones and I took them back 3 times, no problem what soever apparantly was a fault with the line so they was happy to replace. I assume dublin would be the same.

I had some stitching give way on my tall river boots, I took them back to the retailer and they sent them back for testing. I eventually got a new pair. It took quite a while though. My friend bought another style and hers burst too, they took ages to replace hers too. But they did replace them.
I haven't had a problem with the lining but i know that has been an issue. Apparently they have solved the problem with the new ones.
Not my fave boots, nice for over jeans though, i think they
dropped too much to be nice with jods.

We have not been having luck with boots, had 2 pairs of the Dublin river boots the lining in both pairs came out after ten days, returned both pairs and gave upon them. Bought a pair of Ariat Grassmere (£225) 4 months down the line and they too are now leeking so they will be going back too, so cheesed of that when you pay a lot of money for somthing you expect it too last

Hunters are another brand that's gone to pot. When I was a kid, everyone wore hunter wellies and they lasted years and years. Now the hunter originals all seem to split along the side, near the ball of the foot within around 6 months. No one at our yard wears hunters anymore because of the bad quality. It's such a shame.

Hmm, I was going to buy some for my mother, but I'm rather glad I haven't now.

Dubarrys all the way for boots that last

yup-dublin river are notorious for not lasting long. Mine lasted no longer than an ordinary cheap rubber riding boot before the inside came out!

I bought some dublin boots in july...cant rememeber what name they were, not the rivers ones but some other tall riding boot they make.

THe lining started coming away fro the inside last month and over the last couple of weeks the outside started splitting to the point my lovely new boots are now full of holes!

Never had a problem with dublin before but shant be buying their boots again!

we have had about 100 pairs of Dublin River boots back in the last 18 months- they were originally designed to try and rival Dubarry!!
the main faults we see are the lining, them leaking, or the soles coming away.

Hunter Originals aswell- had 10s of pairs of those back aswell- if you ever want wellies, dont get the Originals, get the Balmorals. much better!!

I returned 2 pairs of River boots - both the lining and the sole came away! I have 9 year old Hunters and they're great but the Balmorals are toasty warm
