So got up at 4.45am this morning which was actually 3.45

to get to grt witchingham.

Got there on time and walked course - the course was nice and up to height but quite inviting, although there was definitely enough questions (if not more!) for an Intro. Only one I was worried about was obviously the water with Mac after his fall and the 1st water was a wide ditch with rinning water in in - Great!!

And on the 2nd water there was 2 strides and over what was in the PN last year the quite wide and up to height table with two shavings bales underneath it!! I thought oh dear Spiders eyes will be on stalks (she is only 5 in May!!)

Anyway went off to do dressage and Spider warmed up really nicely - went in and she did he one of her nicest test's and some really nice trot work - but the canter still needs lots of work!!

but was very please with 34.7.

So went on to showjumping - warm up was quite mucky and as always the practice jumps on that horrid dip!! Spidey went in not looking at a things like she was a schoolmistress!! And just had one down as she got to deep - but all in all very pleased. Onto the XC and was a bit worried about the water jump out but she warmed up great and off we went!! She was very very good and felt much fitter this time - she went clear but had a slight hestitation at fence 4 into the woods ad was given 20 pens - which was a bit annoying because she did hat at poplar at a few and didnt get any pens, but I spose it depends on the jump judge - but chuffed to bits with her she is a diamond for her age and shows real promise bless her!!

So on to Big Mac!! He warmed up awful for the dressage - really looking around not concentrating and was really annoyed - so did a bit more then went in early and didnt do a great test but it was ok - ended up with 33.7 which I was quite shocked about!! On to Sjing and he was the ever SJing pro going clear again. And the XC!!!

was quite worried about this after Poplar and just thought I will just try and get him round and encourage him slowly into the water!! Anyway he was a dude and galloped along flying everything - then came the water - jumped the roll top and really slowed him up so he could see it and he just walked in!!! to my shock so he got big pats and praise! then the next water and again flew in and popped out! So galloped through the finish line with a big smile!! double clear woo hoo, what he should have had last week!! So went and checked the scores and he was lying 3rd. Few more went up and he didnt get moved so finished with a 3rd YEY!! Good confidence boost for him! just had 1 time pen otherwise would have been 2nd but I was just happy to get home and prob lost some time walking through the water!!

Anyway if you have got to here well done!!! Will hopefully post pics next week!

Sounds like you had a good time & weather . I am a nice fence judge there , but only did the Friday .

I am nice because I honestly hate marking anyone down or eliminating them . Spare a thought for the judges - I only had one chance to go to the loo ( because there was a hold on course ) , my pencil broke , my pen ran dry , husband spilt coke over my score sheet & the radio had a dodgy battery !

But I'm never grumpy & well done to you & all competitors - I'll be back judging in July .....

PS - With the intros & pn's , I don't mark them down for being a little hesitant or ' looky' - only penalise if they come to a grinding halt . Said I was nice , didn't I ? !
