Ok so my foalie is a well mannered, friendly type who loves people, but the last week or so she's been proper stroppy.

Obviously I've been disciplining her when she kicks and stomps but hoping this is a phase she'll grow out of?

Could be cos is getting colder and she's getting a bit woolly. Or perhaps she's just having an early teenage tantrum?..

i've had the sweetest fillies go through a right mardy phase. i call it "going feral" and leave them to it, really. i make sure all their contact with me is positive, i don't p*** them off, i give them something nice then walk away. so far, that's worked.

Mine's been the same. I think it's just a phase. She was really lovely and I could do anything with her but for the last three or four weeks she's been impossible to get near and we literally had to round her up into a trailer for the vet to microchip! She's been gradually "coming round" again over the last couple of days and has actually been consenting to let me scratch her bum and withers again. Like kerilli I've basicallt left her to it until she grows out of it. She's going off to be weaned at the end of the month and will be in a stable to I'll work on her again then. When you do get hold of her she's fine to handle but thinks zooming round the field out of reach is a great game.
