Grumpy horses?!

My old boy was in a right grump today, I mean seriously stroppy! he's always pulling faces and swishing tail at people/other horses but today he was vile.
Anyone else's beast got the hump now winter is settling in?

My 25 year old kicked me a few days ago. Second time he's kicked me in 20 years

I figure that's an indication I need to up his magnesium

Here in SA it's summer now and my Cob x is quite ticked off with all this heat (We had a heat wave a couple of days ago where the tempretures reached 40 degrees celsius. It was seriously boiling over here - even for South African standards). On the first day of the heat wave I trieeed to reason with him, but after being flybucked (almost out of the saddle) in the middle of practicing two time changes I decided to let the poor old man have some time off... So he got to sit the heat wave out for about 4 days and was completely back to his old (still mildly moody) self as soon as the tempreture was normal again

My 15yo gelding is grumpy ALL the time! We call him Victor (Meldrew!). But he's all mouth and no trousers, and I'm sure he loves us really - he'll come over for fuss if he's in a cuddly mood - he's just not very touchy-feely and prefers not to be faffed with. I think it gives him character, lol. x

My little mare is a right stroppy cow at the moment. Coming in on two legs, spooking at everything, a real handful on a hack and charging around the arena when ridden.

Doesn't bode well for stressage tomorrow!

haha yep I know one EXACTLY the same. People ask whether it scares me and I honestly answer that I don't even notice it after 3 years! Poor boy, he tries so hard to tell me that life is oh so hard...although I think of him as more of a Kevin ("oh you're soooo unfair!!) than a Victor
