Hello, looking for someone with a similar experience. I have a 11yo warmblood mare who I have owned for 5 years. Hack, school and jump her to about 1m competitively. She has always been a bit grumpy to ride in the school (her mood is dependent on how she feels and isn’t persuaded easily) she never rears, bucks etc and nothing is nasty. She is just a bit grumpy! Ears back when asked to do something she might not want to do, not that forward etc. Absolutely fine out hacking and rarely does it at shows or in the ring. She toe drags slightly (have gone down the vet route) and she has been scoped for ulcers which was all clear. She isn’t mareish on the ground, nips a few times but nothing out of the ordinary for a mare! Have done a week bute trial to rule out pain and that didn’t change anything. Anyone had this experience and how did you overcome it? It hasn’t just happened over night and I’ve never seen her in season, she isn’t mareish on the ground. No nasty comments or self taught vets, she is thoroughly pampered and up to date on everything.
