GSD pics for Murphy's Minder

Aww - she is so cute - where's the after picture? I agree prices are very high. I too think £1,000 is steep, although when I was looking for another staffie - all the blue ones were going for that price. I paid less than that for Xara but not an awful lot. MM - that was very nice you were given Evie, she's gorgeous. Mmm - must remember to be your best friend when Evie's puppies are due

Wow, Xara as a pup looks so much like Evie - let's hope eve grows up to be as gorgeous as her!
Mum - no I don't remember life at 5 months old, funnily enough!

I do remember naming a puppy Snowy though, and when you told me I couldn't call a puppy PomPom! I thought it was a good name for a long coat GSD.

Out of interest, is Buffy a Z or an A then?
.......Hayley goes away to think of names beginning with B for Evie's babies!

Xara and our girls have quite similar lines . Buffy is a Z (Zanadu). The A litter was Saffies sister who was on breeding terms. Do you really think you will have an input on future names when your previous offerings have been Snowy and Pompom

I am a genius at naming, thank you very much. And I was about 5 when I came up with those two! My personal favourites were tiddles and dinky though!

OMG, I am soooooo broody for a GSD puppy, I have a brute of a boy and he is my world (after my children of course ), I utterly adore him, I worked for a woman who bred them and they are just the most amazing breed, I don't think I could have anything else!! They are gorgeous, well done for taking them on, it must be a hell of a job!

Thank you everyone for all your replies. GSD's certainly seem to have quite a fan club out there.

I think they are great and I am soooooooooooooo pleased with how well the pups are doing and that they have put some weight on and seem to be coping with parting from their Mum at an early age really well.

My parents have had GSDs for about 30 years. GSDs are great dogs. Be prepared to be shadowed constantly. They are so faithful and loyal. They are incredibly easy to train too as they are so keen to please.

All of ours were also incredibly protective over children. They would really look after them.

They really are fab dogs.

Quite a few rescue GSDs seem to suffer from separation anxiety which I would think is due to their total devotion to their owner, so if you are going to keep one of the pups, it might be worth looking into how to avoid this problem. Some of ours did have a problem and some didnt (We always rehomed GSDs-ie. took them in- we didnt give them away. )

I just think with GSDs you do have to be particularly careful with the way you bring them up as they are such sensitive and intelligent dogs.

If you keep one, I dont think you will regret it.
