GSDM:Maybe its Vinny!

Wooooooooooo! Thats the one I found! :D He does look and sound lovely. :) Do they seem geniune? The ad appears so.

Still waiting for my cheese and biccies! :p :D

I liked the look of him when you posted the ad before. Getting past the fact that I get cross when people rehome their dog just because a baby is coming along, they do seem genuine. What else have you found out about him? How old is he, whats he like with other dogs etc, would they let you speak to their vet to see if he has had any health problems? If you decide to go further with him I would take your 2 over to meet him and take them a walk together on neutral territory to see how they get on. Also if you did decide on him could they be persuaded to have him neutered before you took him. Might be less traumatic for him than being done when he has just arrived in a new home.
Not so impressed with a rescue rehoming a pup at 6 weeks old.:(

What rescue is rehoming at 6 weeks MM?

They seem very genuine, his wife had asthma, which they thought they had a handle on but it has flared up badly and with the arrival of their fourth (!) child the stress it is causing is too much for them. He says his grandfather used to breed GSDs so he is very attached to Vinny, I had sent photos and he has taken a genuine interest in where he will be going.

Good point about neutering!! I will put that to them.

He does look and sound lovely - however, Benson still gets my vote! (plus i've forgotten my lunch today so cheese and bics would be very welcome right now )

Sadly Benson was already reserved - the lady said I could put my name down for him, if it fell through, but I'm sick of dissapointment at the moment!

Sorry, I read it as he was from a rescue centre, just re read and it doesn't say that at all just he was the pup of a rescue dog.:o Four children, they must be mad, give me 4 dogs any day. As I said they do sound genuine, how seriously did his grandfather breed GSDs, maybe I know him.;)
I did think Benson was lovely too, and looked younger which would have been an advantage but good luck and fingers crossed .

He looks nice:) - agree with MM about finding out how he gets on with other dogs and taking yours to meet him on neutral territory - good idea to see if they can get him neutered before you take him - that way the £100 will be going to a good charity - one that stops more unwanted puppies!!:D

Ask them which charity they plan to donate the money to and make the cheque out to them directly...

**removes cynical hat**

Good luck! He looks lovely:)

lol Spuddy you cynic you!

I'll report back when I have some solid answers - at the moment its just email contact, hoping I can give them a ring tonight if they respond in time.

Fingers crossed it works out! It sounds genuine and he sounds a lovely boy from a good home which helps. GSDs are lovely dogs. You wont regret it. :)

Well things seem to be rolling on merrilly, I have had all your questions answered to my satisfaction, MM pm me if you'd like the details of the breeder as mentioned.

Its now all down to a meeting!! I am grotesquely excited. Beyond belief!! I have been sorting out the lean to in readyness - maybe I can get that bed and lead after all :)

I am just trying to co-ordinate with Josh, who not only has the estate (daen't take my micra!) but is also a very good navigator :) I am hoping that we will be able to meet Sunday, all going well.

Just looking for a good half way meeting point with a nice park etc so we can all go for a walk :D

I can see their point in the donation as not to give him away for free, but I would see if they would lean towards putting it towards his castration, so basicaly waiver it to go towards u having them chopped, or if he is not coming to u for a few weeks , ask if u can pay £100 straight to their vet and they pay the rest, and they take him and get it done before he comes to you, at least they can see you are responsible.:)
Good luck, he looks nice.

Hey Cayla

The birth of their 4th child is imminent and his wife is suffering with her allergy so I think he is keen to put a swift turnaround on Vin's new home, which I cannot argue with not being pregnant nor allergic I cannot imagine how his mrs is feeling now - explosive if its anything like my friend who is 7 weeks and thinks she's dying lol

Don't worry too much guys, my garden has 7ft walls, he wont be getting over those for any merry making in the meantime :)

No, haven't been yet, his wife is due any time soon - I think the 15th was the first date, I have to go into work and get my shifts for the next week and we'll see what we can do!

Eeeeeep!!!

Ps// When I do go and see him, he will be coming home that day. Any tips on intergration into the pack?

I was thinking to crate my two and leave him loose in the room, that way he's close but not close enough to do any damage (which I don't think will happen) should they turn during the night.

Also was thinking long line for walks, just while he gets used to me. He's going to spend a while wondering where his Dad is and I don't want him haring off after someone he wrongly thinks to be his Master. Shall I try and spend some time 1 on 1 walking with him, in the hope he will eventually love me too? :)

Yep, longline and one to one are the way to go in the beginning - I am going to have to do that tomorrow because someone has forgotten who I am after a flippin' fortnight!!!
Make sure he knows that you are now the centre of his universe, all treats, food, toys, play and good stuff comes from you.
