GUESS HOW MUCH???

[ QUOTE ]
Storm Cat is $300,000 a go next year, down from $500,000 the previous year.
Sadler's Wells and Galileo in Ireland are both 'private' fees - rumoured to be anything up to 500,000 Euros!

Yup the 'Golden Penis' fee has been reduced by $200,000 for 2008 - which is totally fair considering his fall in in popularity as a sire/covering sire in the sales ring and also his fall in success as a sire......

I can tell you exactly how much SW and Galileo are for 2008, having just sent off signed nominations for both stallions only this week!! However, as their fees are not advertised I won't, just incase we are getting a concession and on one of them, I think we are - a hefty one!!

My understanding is that it's where multiple people buy shares in a stallion. Each share that they own entitles them to one or more breeding rights (nominations) to that stallion. If they own a mare they might send it to the stallion or if not then they can sell their nomination(s) to someone else. So in that way it becomes an investment - if the stallion does well & lives a long time then the person who bought in at the start might see a very good return for their money.
Obviously, for top stallions though they would be fairly selective about the mares they accept to the stallion. Also, not all stallions are syndicated - some would be owned outright by a single person/stud farm.
Think that's about right - my bloodstock knowledge is a bit rusty though!

em1, that is my understanding of syndication too! We've just sold a 2008 nomination to a leading sire, that we have shares in - we are using our other 5 shares though.

Oh, I see
