Guess my vet bill, follow on from daylight robbery.

My most annoying bill was last year, 2 of my horses were lame I called vets and arranged in advance an appointment for 2 days later.

Vet came out trotted both horses up in a straight line, told me he couldnt tell anything without horses being brought into the clinic for a work up, they would have to stay a couple of days and to bring their tack so the nurses could ride them. 1 of these was my advanced dressage horse who had a serious rep for being a nutter. He then let his JRT out of the car by accident when he was getting back in and proceeding to spend the next half hour trying to catch it with a treat  I got fed up walked over and picked the dog up and handed it to him.

£200 bill arrived in the post, he had spent 10 mins looking at the horses. I rang the surgery fuming and another vet was sent out with a student in tow.

She trotted them both up on the straight and on circles, flexions, calipers, the works, diagnosed the TB with puss in the foot, great. My mare needed nerve blocks, vet proceeded to direct the student how to nerve blocks on my dressage horse. I asked her politely could she do it herself horse cost a lot, she was incredibly snotty, she did the nerve blocks and told me she couldnt tell where the lameness was.

£500 bill arrived!!!!!!!!!! She had charged me for twice the amount of nerve blocks that were done and when I rang up again I was told both horses had nerve blocks done when they hadnt.
I complained and was put though to the head of surgery, he came out himself and did the works on my mare, right down to x-rays in which Navic was diagnosed. He only charged me for 1 set of nerve blocks and the following treatments for her. He also looked at the TB she had diagnosed with puss in the foot, he also had Navic. He really restored my faith in vets but his employees were AWFUL!!

i was charghed 400 pound because my vet didnt know the differance between a bruised sole and a broken pedal bone.... 148 pound for x ray and a further 28 pound to read the plate.... quote ..... well i didnt think it was that.. your farrier was right its just a BRUISE GRRRRRRRRRRR.

Swap your vets bill for mine please :D

Ive just received a bill for £320, for a shared visit, examination, skin scrapes etc., and shampoo, antibiotics & cream.

The really annoying thing is, i have been charged £45 for items they say theyve posted out to me prior to my pre arranged visit, which over a month later haven't arrived, despite me ringing the surgery two days after they said they had posted them to say i haven't received them, so had to have them sent again.

I am now waiting for the Practice Manager to ring me back, as apparantly they only credit IF the goods are returned to the practice, so not sure where this will end. I don't object to paying my bill, but i do object to paying for goods not recieved  especially this side of Christmas.
