Okay, so if this work's it'll be a big suprise.
This is Stitch - my lovely 22 month old gelding. I've always wanted this breed of horse (although he is cross bred) not only based on looks but also because these supposedly have such good temperaments. I bought him 6 months ago expecting him to make 16.2hh, just now he's standing at 16hh - so am following the post about BIG horses with interest!!!
He's a lovely boy and a real "horse of a lifetime" for me.
But assuming no one will remember (I have posted about him before) - can you guess his breeding?

He's been through some tough times and these aren't quite over just yet but things are looking up.

So, if you're not too bored with these posts - take a guess!

Beautiful horse.

His head looks very Trakehner looking and his legs and neck look very Friesian looking, and his body looks very TB.

he's lovely, but he's so leggy, i haven't a clue. only thing that leggy that i've seen was an Akhal-Teke, and that's a real longshot... i'd love one of them though, that beautiful metallic coat. wonder if they'd event?

A-T x or trak x is my best guess.

so tell us!

I'd go for a Friesian cross too... tho' never heard of their temperament being anything special, but head doesn't look like and AT and legs don't look PRE...

so?

what is he?

The prize goes to Tia!

Yeah, his dad is a registered friesian, mum is half friesian, quarter TB and quarter trak. I met his mum and his mum's sire and they had fantastic temperaments - not to mention they were both gorgeous!

He's the one that had a punctured tendon on his hock, followed by an infection, then possible OCD and now is very unlevel behind due to muscle wastage from the original injury (we think). Technically he is unsound just now but the vet and physio and hoping it's just a phase and he'll grow out of it.

Does any one care to comment re his eventual height. Dad is 16.3, mum was 16.1. Am I being too naive in thinking he may actually stop at 16.2 aw was originally predicted (I'm really starting to think so) - he's 16 at 22 months

This is a real stab in the dark. I havent read the other replies so Im not being swayed. Is he a Lusitano or Andi cross with an Exmoor cross TB?
