small coloured sports pony typeX wlesh A ??????

Have to say we have never bought a pony or horse with two blue eyes, or even one because we didn't want to risk it, but it depends what you would be using him for?

he doesn't look at all like a welsh A!! heres mine even though he's bay but see the difference in shape of body and face, he's very cute though!!! was this the bargain pony?

Register him as a skewbald of unknown parentage, I would hazard a guess he will be worth more registered as that than as unknown possible welsh type. As to the blue eyes, I think they are lovely, but I reckon it's down to personal preference. Sweet little chap, should make a nice childs pony!

I don't know about the breed or the blue eyes bit but personally I think the blue eyes add to his character as he is very cute.
What about Splodge for a name or Splash maybe because he has splashes of colour in his coat?

i bought him to bring on and sell!! my next project after this one is a vanner. i know he wont go for alot but if i can make him a super pony club type then im hoping i can atleast get back what ive spent on him!!
this is another one that was bought-now this does look like a section A

wouldn't it be great if you could have animals blood tested and the results told you the breeding?
any brainy people that invent this make sure you give me a cut of the profits when when your rich and famous!!!

if i was to sell him in march(ish) time as a rising 2 (or do i class him 2 in jan despite passport??) halter broken, easy to handle etc etc-what do you reckon i could get for him as a very roughish guide?? just pondering if he is worth hanging on to over winter. but i am already getting very fond of him.lol

um if you want to make bit a dosh your better off waiting till hes a 3 year old, as he will be ready to start breaking, a friend just sold a lovely grey welsh A for £500, well handled and had tack on but thats it, it all depends on how much money you want back on him. you'll have him gelded if he's childs pony material?

He'll make some child a super little pony.

Don't worry about the blue eyes, some people like them, some don't, I do. I see that he seems to have dark 'eyeliner' which is rather pretty and means that he won't have the sun burn problem that my blue eyed horse does.
You can loads of fun bomb proofing him and making sure he has great manners, that is one of the most important things with kids ponies, they must put up with everything a child will do to them without turning a hair. When I was looking for ponies for my daughter I couldn't have cared less whether they were registered or not. I wanted something with a leg at each corner that wasn't going to boot her into next week if she walked behind him, bite her if he wasn't under supervision and didn't care if it was dressed up like a christmas tree for fancy dress classes.

Good Luck, have fun. It will be interesting to follow his progress.

looks like a dartmoor hill pony to me, they have no "fixed" breeding as such often being of shetland origin, lots of ponies have been turned out on the moors over the years and as a result there are allsorts of types out there, but i've seen lots of them rounded up of dartmoor and bodmin to go through the sales ring. height wise he'll probably go 12.2 ish, and blue eyes are loved by some loathed by others!!

I have a top-winning Welsh Section A with two blue eyes, but yours look like wall eyes (which are different to blue.) Some people love blue/wall eyes while others hate them but I don't think it will be a problem selling because of them. I think he may be a welsh X.

wow what a beauty-unusual to see blue eyes surrounded by dark hair rather than white with pink skin!!! thanks everyone for making me think it wasnt such a bad idea getting him!! he has only been near humans for 2 days and already i can brush him, tie him up , pick up his feet(briefly) and lead him (not perfectly but getting there) oh and ive bathed him too!! 2 days ago i couldnt get near him, he just freaked and tried to climb the wall.lol tells me he might have been a good find after all!! shame he apparently looks like a tapir.pmsl

Keep a hold of him, there seems to be big money floating around these coloured LR/FR types- if he matures well. Can you get a pic of him a bit further away and squarer..cuz he looks somewhat bunched up and his head appears large as its close to the camera.

He looks a lovely little sort , looks to have possibly section a x connie x irish cob type ( the lighter weight ) . Height wise I would say around the 12.1/12.2hh mark .

We also have a registered welsh ssection A

Personally I would hang onto him and get him ready for breaking, get him used to all the sights and sounds around the yard , should make a lovely little childs pony, and blue eyes wouldnt bother me as I had a little pony very simliar to him, although you couldnt see the coloured in him he did have the different colour skin tone and he also had blue eyes .

Good luck with him hes very cute x

That's interesting, I didn't know that. Why are they different?

he's cute! Second one in the pic with the little person looks more welshie to me but I am not that knowledgeable about them! I've just noticed that many welshies have an element of arab looks around their faces and that one does, whereas the cute little coloured doesn't so much? Then again, our pony was sold to us as a NF as she's clearly not, vet reckons some kind of show pony (v fine legs, no feather) x shetland (very shettie head) x exmoor (she is exmoor shaped through the body and has the right colouring!)! God only know though, I did see her spitting image once and that was an exmoor x TB apparently!
Rekon you'd dowell to hang on to him if you can, depend on livery costs etc though obviously!
