Guess what I have curled up in front of the Rayburn?

The hosepipe!!!!


All the outside taps are frozen and so is the hose so it's thawing out before I attach it to the shower as that's the nearest thing to the stables. I can't face any more staggering over sheet ice with waterbuckets - I carried forty gallons last night and another twenty this morning and I'm NOT going to do it again!

Yeh, i have mine in a big black tub, if it is frozen i pour boiling water on and leave it to soak, alternatively i keep it in the tub in my conservatory

I'm now keeping the hosepipes in the utility room much to hubby's disgust.

The other day I finally managed to defrost a tap only to find that the hoses were all frozen so into the house they came.

Really pleased as this morning I managed to get a tap defrosted again as we were running really low on water and with my newly unfrozen hose pipes managed to get the field troughs filled (takes 6 hoses joined together!).
