Guess what we did today :)

We braved our first fun ride. My little cob was a superstar. He has gone from not being able to really hack out at all due to super spookiness and losing most of the sight in one eye, to stomping his way round a fun ride today in a howling gale. The wind was something to be believed! Am super proud. Note the big grin on the way back in!

By hacking hacking and more hacking and just exposing him to as much as I possibly could while remaining as safe as possible.

Yes, he's fat But, not as fat as you might think, there is a lot of fluff and he is VERY well built anyway....think about 13 inches of bone and you are getting there

Ha, thanks, that made me laugh...grand lump is very appropriate! He's 11. And he very rarely looks that clean...that is the result of a full on bath the night before and a night in the stable! Otherwise he's a proper mud monster and wears a lightweight rainsheet most of the time so I can at least get a saddle on a clean bit!
