Excuse the blurriness; I'm just relieved he is in one piece and safely contained!

Where's he been?

I was ill and unable to look after him - wasn't sure where I was going to be living either for a while, so I had returned him to his previous owner :) He's been with them since May. Thankfully all is now back on track, a local yard had space, and so he came back to me today. Happy ending!

Woo hooo! Great news! Looks v settled :D

What are your plans with him?

Ha ha ha <weeps and gibbers> I'm hoping to get him settled into the new yard and then just give him another year or so to mature a bit more. Just keep up the basics until then :) In the long term I think I will enjoy the owning and hacking side and find someone who enjoys jumping/competing to get him out and about a bit. He can jump - I wish I didn't know this but I do, the little so*!

<googles extra tall fencing supplies>

You never know, by the time he's ready for getting out and about, you might feel like doing it yourself :)
How old is he? He's v handsome! Am trying to work out what colour he is... Looks a lot like my roan does at the mo!

Thank you :) He just turned two; bay roan (terrible lighting sorry!).

I know my limits and would far rather he had someone on board who is able to ride him "properly". I'm a semi-arthritic happy ambler, and will never be brave enough to do more than hack and school on the flat. He has scope, and I suspect he will enjoy eventing when he is old enough. Of course he may decide that happy ambling suits him too, but I like to have a proper job in mind to aim for with him.

I wasn't familiar with your story but that is great news and I'm really pleased for you both! He looks adorable :)

He seemed more settled this morning, and had munched his way through two slices of hay over the course of the night. Looking forwards to getting him properly introduced to his field mate so that he can be out as much as possible :)

<he hates the rain...wimpiest native ever>

He goes out tomorrow onto the back grazing, with the other youngster and some sheep. Ten or so acres, plenty of hills and lots of space to tire each other out :)

Pray for us please; he is afraid that he will melt in the rain and I refuse to rug him whilst it is still so warm...the rain just glides off him anyhow, but he blames me for it daring to exist, lol! The stable is there if needed, and I'll still bring him in regularly to tie up and groom or to see the farrier etc. Just trying not to rug until actually needed...

Glad that you have your roan back to gaze at. I'd certainly miss my lot. Onwards, forwards and upwards now eh?

He won't stop growing, please send ladders asap...:D

Bless him, he's a delicate lad. Have you explained to him that as a native he should be tough and hardy and not bothered by rain? :p :D

I tried. He insists that his coat is only so waterproof, and that he will require rugging to the ears this winter and stabling over night too. I'm not planning on agreeing to this. He has however learnt how to whicker affectionately upon spotting a familiar human and is using this against me...

Warning - picture overload ahead! :D The Camel Horse's normal greeting and subsequent disdainful glower as he realises I do not have treats for him...

"Hurray; she's here again!"

You forgot his minty treats! *shock horror* Poor boy, I'm sure that he'll be telling the sheep all about his terribly sad tale of woe, 'the mints that were not there'. :(

:p :D
