Not horse related I know but alot of folk on here seem to have piggies and have given helpful advice in the past.

One my my piggies, Hilda, has a slightly weepy eye. Can you get drops to rinse it out or will she need to go to the vets?

Wash it with warm water and a soft cotton pad.
Make sure the cotton pad isn't soaked, just damp, and go over and around the eye gently.
Dry it well.
If it doesn't improve, take her to the vets.

Hope it's nothing serious.x

Sounds like conjunctivitis which all animals can and do get.
Gently wash with warm water and a cloth an if no better in a couple of days then the vets it is.

There is golden eye ointment which is available from the pharmacy for humans and I know people use it on horses to but I'd worry it would be far to strong for a little guinea pig.

Hope yours is better soon, they are great pets to have.

wash it with warm water and a cotton wool pad go to your local pet shop they usually do eye drops or a wash for little piggys if so try that for 2 to 3 days if no better take to vets!

Make sure there is not a piece of straw, hay or shavings stuck under her eyelid...... and brolene is a good ointment for sore eyes...... also check that theres not an area that looks like an ulcer, as you will need special vet eye drops for that
