Much has happened since my last post.

Unfortunately the boys fell out permanently in holiday care, presumably over the presence of girls.

One has now been rehomed with a new friend.

One has been neutered this week, and although he spent a couple of days in the living room he's definitely happier outside, so he is back in the hutch outside the back door now, squeaking whenever I appear.

Realising that sows seem in short supply at the moment in rescues, I thought I'd keep my eye on various sites and see what came up. As a result I picked up two girls tonight - an 8 month old mum and her 4 week old daughter. They are now in my living room making an almighty racket (and basically the inside of the wall the hutch is on so they all set each other off squeaking confusedly earlier). Partner is away so will once again return to surprise additional Guinea pigs ?

How is everyone else getting on? Are yours getting braver ester? Who had the baby piggies?

Aww nice to meet the newbies, it's a bugger they fell out. Boys .

The girls are good, nailing the keeping the lawn down situation now though I have abandoned them for a weeks holiday and carer said she hasn't seen them much. Am going home tomorrow and suspect they will be well pleased for a run round. (And frank will be happy to get rid of me from here)
Their reaction to me having personal training in the kitchen, right next to them is to fall asleep just to rub it in a bit.

Last week they were outside, swimming in grass and still hollered when they heard me open the freezer.

So I've weighed them all today:
Tulip (8 months) - 792g
Poppy (4weeks) - 320g
Squeak (1.5 years) - 988g - 180g less than earlier in the year pre breakup and op stress. Realistically he won't regain all of that as he is now ball less ?

Surprise piggies are the best! Nice to have an update.

My two baby boys went to their new home 2 weeks ago, so down to 5 now. The boys have stopped scrapping, but Lionel has spotted the girls in the other cage and spends quite a lot of time sitting on his hut squeaking at them! The baby girl, Mouse, is doing well and putting on weight. I am going to get the boys neutered and then split them between the girls - it might mean I have to get a 4th girl so its 2 girls and a boy together, buy hey ho, I like even numbers!!

They are, I'm besotted! They are so soft and sooo noisy. Are all girls more chatty than boars?

Ah, lovely to hear from you Hexx. Any pics of the current piggies now? How old is Mouse now?

Hopefully the vet will sign Squeak off tomorrow and he can have a bath soon, he stinks of wee where he's sat still too long but I don't want to damage the wounds with more than a wipe at the moment.

I had a guinea pig when I was 10 years old. When the guinea pig became sexually mature, I developed an allergy. I had to give this cute animal. I still like them, but I don't risk starting them because of allergies. Interestingly, there are no allergies to cats and dogs.
