Guinness?!

On summer evenings at our old house, we used to sit in the stable yard with the horses free range and chill with a drink, my lad mugged my OH for a drink of whisky, OH wasn't impressed but my lad is very difficult to ignore.
That's how we found out my lad likes tea, I was mugged for my cup of tea, he often has tea, but has had no more whisky.
I will try him on Guiness

Oh this brings back happy memories - we used to give all the riding school horses a can of guinnes for Xmas - they almost all loved it. There was one old mare who would always fall asleep after that and snore loud enough that the whole yard could hear!! never did any of them any harm.

My old boy mugs anyone for tea, not so keen on coffee, coke, fanta and this week he took a shine to monster energy drink. He will drink it straight out of a cup, bottle or can not fussy !!

Think I need to try him on guiness :D

My little gang all had a tipple today.
Section A went very very quiet, I think its gone to her head :p

Back out to re-hay in a minute so hopefully I will be able to avoid any 'I love you' and 'you are my best friend, you really are' speeches in the girls toilets if I'm fast enough

Just back, and Shy was fine, but he hadn't eaten much of his haynet - i think he'd been fast asleep.......anyways, a supper of Healthy Hooves, Top Spec, apples (crushed) and carrots (sliced) and his other can went down so fast you'd think he'd got a liking for it !!

Put the whole can in his bucket, he gave it a whiff and snorted at it and wouldn't touch the stuff  left it with a bit of chaff in it, went back down tonight and it had gone :) he also had a likit and a Swede tonight :)

hahaha ! So he's acquired the taste then - no going back now ;) Shy also has a Likit (the Sport Hydration one - only one he'll touch, and much less sugar) and he had a good lick at that - there's Guinness and Likit lining the wall under it, haha !!

I hadnt heard of feeding guinness to horses until a few weeks ago but apparently, lots of people do it. My last share horse had a can for her birthday and christmas and one whenever she was feeling poorly and Grace has just had half a can in her tea. She's a fussy eater so I was concerned she wouldn't like it, but she yummed it up and licked the bowl clean!!

Can horses get drunk??

How funny, I have never heard of giving horses Guinness! CAN they get tipsy? I can't help wonder if it might help with bombproofing if we both had a little dutch courage!
